Vueling carried 1.4 million passengers in first quarter of 2008

Vueling carried a total of 1,415,896 passengers in the first quarter of 2008, representing an increase of 32.1% compared to the same period in 2007.

Vueling also increased the number of passengers flying with the airline in March: a total of 539,042 passengers, 33% more than the same month the year before.

The average seat occupancy rate for March was 72.4%, an increase of 1.6 points in relation to 2007, generated by the Easter holidays. Likewise, the occupancy figure for the first quarter was 65%, a reduction of 1.9 points compared to the first quarter of 2007.

Optimizing income per flight remains Vueling’s objective. Over the first quarter of 2008, income level per passenger compensated for the slight decrease in seat occupancy rate, to the point where the income rate per flight reached was higher than that achieved during the first quarter of 2007.
