Silverjet launches mobile site

Discerning travellers can from today book flights, find flight status and schedules, select seats, and choose meals all from their mobile phone, thanks to the launch of Silverjet Mobile, the UK’s first full-service mobile airline website from Silverjet.

Customers can access the site by entering the usual Silverjet web site address into their mobile browser. In the United Kingdom they can also text "Silverjet" to 60767 to receive a link via SMS.

Silverjet Mobile uses the very latest in mobile internet technology to offer travellers all the functionality and services of the airline’s award winning website, but from the convenience of a mobile phone or PDA.

Developed in close partnership with leading mobile solutions provider Mobile Travel Technologies (MTT), the solution is designed specifically to meet the needs of Silverjet’s travellers who have come to enjoy innovation and stress-free experience from the award winning airline. Sophisticated technology will recognise the wide range of mobile devices currently in use and optimise the display and adapt functionality accordingly.

The latest in a number of customer-focused innovations from Silverjet, the new service has been launched to meet a growing demand by travellers for mobile internet services. Recent research has revealed that over a third (36%) of business travellers now regularly use mobile internet services for work, with nearly half (47%) requesting the benefits mobile technology can now offer airline passengers.
